Goderich Aircraft Inc.
Goderich Aircraft is located in the industrial park at Huron Park, Ontario. It is a unique business which caters to high end refinishing of aircrafts. They do V.I.P. conversions. They remove the seats of the plane and replace them with plush chairs, couches, furniture. They know how to 'pimp your ride' so to speak. Your tired old aircraft can be given new life and updated with comfort. Everything is done here. They have two hangars; one for painting and the other for interior work. They have been in business for 18.5 years and employ 100 employees ranging in age from 20 to 60 years. Goderich Aircraft is proud of their commitment to bringing young people into the company, giving them the training they need and keeping them interested in working for the company.
Dashwood Industries
The business is located in Centralia and employs 80 people on a single shift but will work shifts as needed. They manufacture vinyl windows, patio doors, and products for the renovation market. A well established business since 1928 producing windows and doors with an energy star rating. Their new product for 2011 is a window that is 40% more efficient. It has a rating of D zone. The D standard is the level of efficiency that would be sold in the NWT.
Syfilco
Situated in the town of Exeter they offer a full line of subsurface drainage filter socks, industrial pouches, industrial socks, shade cloth fabrics, hay bale net wrap, pallet netting, trellis netting, bird netting as well as tubular netting used in packaging and containment markets. They are the manufacturer of the shrapnel net bag. This new product is used in the Armed Forces training. The machine purchased to product these bags is the only one in Canada.
Latec Instruments
The business is located in Exeter, Ontario. This business is an electronic designer, making a variety of laser equipment products. One particularly exciting product is the level ice product used on Olympia machines. This product allows ice makers to create a thinner ice profile that is higher quality and takes less energy to maintain. This is a small but extraordinarily prolific company.
